June 25, 2023

Al-Qassam Website - On the seventeenth anniversary of the capture of Zionist Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit at the hands of Palestinian resistance fighters in Gaza, Hamas reaffirmed its stance that targeting occupied Jerusalem, Palestinian detainees, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque would not go unpunished.

On this anniversary, the Palestinian resistance movement emphasised that releasing Palestinian detainees from Israeli occupation prisons would remain a top priority for the movement, which has spared no effort to free them.

Hamas warned the Israeli occupation of the consequences of its continued aggression against Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails. It restated that the crimes perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces "will not be forgotten with the passage of time".

Encouraging unity among the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli occupation authorities' schemes and brutal aggression, Hamas called on the Arab and Muslim Ummah to continue to show solidarity with the just Palestinian cause.

Hamas reiterated that necessity to exert pressure on the Israeli occupation to halt its aggression against Palestinian detainees and work towards releasing the children, women, and patient detainees from its jails.
